Amazing scottish views

The forecast was right and Friday morning was very wet. We managed to take the dogs out for 40mins (in which time we met a hiker wearing a kilt!) then had a lazy morning inside. In the afternoon the sun came out so we decided to go for a walk. As the rain started before we left we decided to go without the dogs which turned out to be a good idea as it poured for the first twenty minutes. The three hour walk took us up Conic Hill - the views across the lock and the surrounding countryside were absolutly stunning. It is obviously quite a popular walk as there were a quite a few people also admiring the views. On the way up a guy stopped and asked me how to get to the top - his scottish ascent was so strong I hardly understood a word he said!

On Saturday we left the farm and drove round the loch via Balloch (to get some petrol and food) then up to Tarbet where we stopped for our breakfast and a quick dog walk.

We then drove up to the famous beauty spot 'Rest and Be Thankful'. This is the highest point on the road between Glen Kinglas and Glen Croe, it is also always in the traffic news! There has recently been a landslip so the road has been closed and they planned to close it Saturday night because of the amount of rain forecast! Once over the top we drove on to the tip of Loch Fyne and parked at the the back of the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar - where we had a 2.30 booking for lunch. Before lunch we took the dogs for a walk and managed to stop off at the Loch Fyne Brewery for a quick drink. The lunch was yummy - we shared some crispy oysters (panko coated)  and a selection of smoked salmon, then I had pan seared gigha halibut in a peppercorn sauce which was delicious  and Michael had salmon fillet with a chickpea and chorizo casserol. I then allowed Michael to have a very small mouthful of my brownie.

The rain had started whilst we ate so we returned to Vincent to sleep off the beer, wine and food before heading out at 7pm for a little dog walk. We tried to make it up to a view point but gave up as the path was very boggy and slippery and Mitzi started  to struggle. So we returned to Vincent to listen the the wind and rain, which continued all night.

We left Loch Fyne after  breakfast and drove to our next stop - Ardfern Motorhome Park. A field on the Craignish Peninsula which takes about 10 motorhomes. We packed some sandwiches and walked all the way to the end of the peninsular. The sceneray is stunning as you can see across to some of the scottish islands. We ended up being out for about four hours and returned with a very tired Mitzi and a filthy Luna.

The forecast for tomorrow is good so i think we will be leaving Mitzi in Vincent and heading off to explore the other side of the peninsula.
