Cycling in the New Forest in January

Our next trip was a night away cycling in the New Forest.  A bit of a last minute thing but the weather was clear and it was not too cold.... and also a goof bit of training for our Chile and Argentina holiday.

We stayed at a campsite which was actually in Wiltshire in the north of the park, Green Hill Farm.

The aim was to set off early, and we did, and get a cycle ride in before it got too dark.  We just about made it but it was very cold before we finished.

After a good warm shower and a nice dinner we slept like a log.

The next day was also crisp and we drove off planning another ride with a pub lunch.  We soon found out that some of the roads in the New Forest are too wide for Vincent (2.3m) and marked in feet.  We had to stop by the side of the road and do some maths as well as looking up how wide Vincent actually is.

We ended up in Dibden Enclosure Car Park which was perfect.

Another lovely ride and a OK pub lunch at The Bold Forester.

We then headed back to Dibden Enclosure and took the wheels off the bikes, got then into the garage and headed home.  Good Day out!
